Harmony House

Building Families, Keeping Them Together Harmony House provides supportive housing for women struggling with mental health issues and/or problematic substance use, who are pregnant or new mothers in danger of losing their child to the Care of the Ministry of Children and Families Development (MCFD).

Women can stay for up to one year, with the youngest child being one year old or younger upon admission. This allows young mothers to stay with their babies in a safe, supportive, and secure environment. Harmony House works alongside the women to prevent the apprehension of children and assist with the reunification of children with their mothers.

Together with community partners, Harmony House works to enhance parenting, social, and life skills, as well as a general sense of confidence and self-esteem. It gives new moms the opportunity to parent their children while continuing to work on themselves.

Located in Prince George, BC, Harmony House offers 24/7 staffing, including a Registered Nurse (manager), Early Childhood Educated staff, and Indigenous support staff. Childminding is provided in the mornings so mothers can attend programs, counseling, or healthcare appointments.
