UNBC Northern Women’s Centre

The Northern Women’s Centre is a non-profit organization committed to supporting, educating, and advocating for the diverse needs of women in Northern British Columbia. They are dedicated to providing a 24-hour safe space for women and furthering gender equality.

The centre is located on the University of Northern British Columbia's Prince George campus. The openness of the NWC allows for the creation of a comfort zone and a feeling of safety for its many users. The encouragement women receive enables them to move forward to a greater degree of self-worth and self-esteem.

24/7 SAFE SPACE

The Northern Women’s Centre is a 24/7 safe space for all self-identifying women. They have couches, desks, and chairs at the centre for your convenience.

Awareness Campaigns

An essential part of the Northern Women’s Centre is spreading awareness about issues affecting women. They believe that the best way to tackle ignorance is through education!

Workshops and Training

Support and Referrals

The Northern Women’s Centre’s main goal is to help you feel supported. They are a network of women who are here to offer support, understanding, and referrals to other organizations, health officials, and support groups who can assist you with your needs.

Coffee, Tea, and Snacks

Arguably the best part the food! They have cutlery at the centre, as well as a kettle and a microwave for your convenience. Come in and make a cup of hot coffee to warm up your day!
