We understand how common and how debilitating violence is.
All too often, it’s in our own families, and in our closest relationships – but this doesn’t make it any less harmful. The immediate and long term impacts are significant and are too often misunderstood and diminished.
Women’s Outreach
Elizabeth Fry Society provides a range of services that are intended to provide support and relief to women that struggle with violence or the history of violence.
This program provides:
- Someone to talk to
- Information and referrals
- Counselling
- Safety planning
- Accompaniment
- Life skills training
- Advocacy
- Confidentiality
- Intervention
- Support in accessing a transition house
Providing information and referrals
This program can provide information about police files, the criminal justice system, court case results and the dynamics of abuse. They can also provide referrals for emergency social services, legal services, resources for children, women’s transition houses and community agencies.
